Because Fort Lauderdale is the yachting capital of world, many passionate sailors find the city to be the perfect place to buy harborage homes. There are a range of homes, and community styles. Water front property as well as homes near golf clubs and downtown enjoyment all borders this large community.

Las Olas Waterways is another community that is large and includes a number of subcommunities. The main focus of these homes is access to waterways that have no fixed bridges and easy access to the ocean. Homes of all retail ranges are available for people on most budgets, from lavish modern designs to old-fashioned high style.

In nearby Boca Raton and Palm Beach, the Highland Beach Community is built with a strong emphasis on loft and apartment living. Properties for sale reflect a smaller square footage and range between two and nine hundred thousand dollars. Some smaller gated neighborhoods do offer homes in excess of ten million dollars as well.

North of Fort Lauderdale, the inland community of Parkland is ideal for golf enthusiasts while southern and further inland, Weston residents can enjoy the same warmth and luxury and be nearer to Miami. Southwest Ranches is also a luxury community with expensive real estate and many Golf clubs. These inland communities are not ideal for boaters, but they remain close to the ocean with the ease of inland traffic and warm weather year round.
